President Mark thanked the negotiating team of Tom Swift, Susan Glen, Mark Neace, Rene Santana and Laurie Aldredge who worked out the compromise that enables RCPC to continue there and for the restaurant to feel comfortable with the income.
Here are some of the details:
• $25/person for lunch • $13/person for non-eaters • Meetings will be held in half of the current room that we have been using, giving the restaurant the opportunity to say yes to rent out the other half to create more business for them. If we have a meeting where the full room is needed, they are open to allowing us to use it with enough notice. • No guaranteed minimum number of eaters required (this one was huge!) • The buffet will include a salad, a pasta, and a protein. Removing dessert and the side items (potatoes, broccoli, etc.) were the only ways for us to keep the weekly cost down.

Our District leadership attended the 2025-26 Regional Rotary Roadmap Awards Celebration on September 9 and we are proud to announce our Zone 25B recognition: • Membership Commendation • Polio Plus Commendation • Public Image Commendation Foundation Commendation and • All-Star District Commendation! In addition, we were named DISTRICT OF THE YEAR in our Zone for POLIO PLUS and DISTRICT OF THE YEAR for FOUNDATION! We received this recognition due to the hard work of our leaders and our clubs to meet the goals that we set for the year. Districts who achieved at least one activity in each category on the Roadmap (checklist) received the commendation in that area, A District that got a commendation in all four areas was named an All-Star District!

From Kathleen Klaviter: Great time was had by all! We made smothered pork chops, mashed potatoes and green beans for 60 and received many compliments from the families! News: the House has a new chef, Chef Marcus. He was impressed with our teamwork and ability in the kitchen.

Foot Care Clinic for the Homeless at Austin Street Center

Assisted by volunteer nursing students and other volunteer medical professionals, about 130 homeless people had their feet washed, cared for and given basic foot health checks. If needed, they were referred for medical treatment asap. After having their feet washed, each person received a new pair of shoes and socks and “care packages” with small sizes of over-the-counter Tylenol, allergy medicine, travel-size toiletries, bars of soap, etc.

The Rotary Club of Park Cities' Communities Fund was originally sponsored in the 1960’s by the Rotary Club of Park Cities (“RCPC”) for the purpose of providing an enduring legal entity through which members and friends of the Rotary Club of Park Cities might make donations for the good of mankind and the Dallas community. The fund continues to this day to consider internal and external grant requests submitted on the RCPC Foundation online grant portal found on the club website.
The following grant requests were approved at our November 2022 meeting:
• $1,000 grant for scholarships for Hillcrest High School for scholarship to honor RCPC long term member C.C. Collie
• $5,413.44 grant for Equest
• $6,000 grant for the Agape Clinic
The Executive Team denied the following grant request:
• Addison Midday grant request for Genesis Women's Shelter
The fund balance as of November 30, 2022, was $1,710.729.17. The Communities Foundation of Texas manages the RCPC Foundation Fund. The amount available each year for grants is derived from an average over 16 quarters (4 years), then, 4.5% of that amount is the amount available for distribution the following year.
Our Sgt. at Arms Kathy Wall for 2022-2023, reported that the RCPC Foundation Fund donations thru 11-30-2022 totals $9,116.00 from 37 donors!
