Drawing on his extraordinary journey from a Soviet dissident and imprisoned refusenik to an Israeli statesman, Sharansky will reflect on the courage that sustained him through years in the Soviet Gulag, his family's unwavering fight for his freedom, and his lifelong commitment to defending democracy and human dignity.

No challenge is too big for us. Since Rotary embarked on this global initiative in 1985, we have educated and equipped communities to stop the spread of polio. Thanks to Rotary Internationals efforts, wild poliovirus has been eradicated in all continents except Asia, and as of 2020, Afghanistan and Pakistan are the only two countries with the disease still classified as endemic. We are committed to continue to fight this battle until the world is polio free.
